Through the Keyhole at Fraunhofer CSE’s Living Lab

Tuesday, Oct 28, 2014

Tour, presentation, and reception at the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE), an applied R&D lab with a focus in building energy technologies, solar photovoltaics, distributed electrical energy systems, start-up assistance, and technical validation. Guests viewed the futuristic technologies being developed in this “Living Lab”, where solar panels are thin as doormats, thermostats are smarter than your phone, and elevators generate their own power. CSE is part of Fraunhofer USA , a subsidiary of Germany’s Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Europe’s largest research organization. The center is currently leading a project to develop Plug-and-Play Photovoltaics for American Homes, PV systems that make installing a solar energy system as easy as plugging in an appliance.
