My name is Sam Hawkins. I am a traffic engineer at McMahon Associates in Lincoln, RI. Since 1976, we have been providing our clients with cutting-edge transportation engineering solutions along the east coast from Maine to Florida. We have extensive experience with traffic signals, intelligent transportation systems, highway and street design, transit planning, and much more. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2017 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.A. in German Language and Literature. While at URI, I participated in the International Engineering Program, which provided me the opportunity to study and work abroad in Germany. During the 2015-2016 academic year, I attended intensive language courses the Technische Universität Braunschweig (TUBS) and completed a six-month German-speaking internship at Deutsche Bahn Engineering and Consulting in Hannover. I have a deep appreciation for German culture and the German language, and I am incredibly excited to join the GABC of Boston!
