International Women’s Day is March 8th and we are excited to host an esteemed and diverse panel of international female executives, founders and entrepreneurs to discuss “What is Ahead for Women in Leadership”. We will ask about the good, the bad and the ugly regarding career opportunities, equality, gender issues and much more.

Speakers

Brooke Duffy, VP of Sales & Marketing, Captario (Moderator)
Brooke Duffy is the VP of Sales & Marketing at Captario, a Swedish-based decision-making SaaS and services solution for the pharmaceutical industry. In her nearly 20-year career, Brooke has held multiple leadership roles that positioned her as the only woman with a seat at the table. Given this experience, she is a passionate champion for elevating other women in business. Brooke is a Founding Member of Chief – Boston, a network built to drive more women into positions of power and keep them there; and, she is a member of the Forbes Communications Council, an invitation-only community created to bring together exceptional business leaders with the people and resources that can help them thrive. Brooke was also a featured speaker at the 7th Annual Advancing Women’s Leadership in Pharma Conference, where she joined a panel discussion on how “Male Allies Can Help Advance Women in the Workplace.” Brooke holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College and an MBA with a focus on Marketing from the UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Management.

Henriette Fleischmann, Co-Founder and COO, Hosta A.I.
Henriette is the Co-Founder and COO of Hosta A.I., an innovative A.I. driven property technology start-up based in Cambridge, MA. Prior to co-founding Hosta in 2020, Henriette received her MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management focusing on A.I. and Entrepreneurship. Originally from Germany, Henriette’s professional career began as the Chief of Staff to the CIO of Daimler Financial Services and she later joined Porsche Consulting as Strategy Project Manager in the automotive industry. Before moving to Boston for her MBA, she was Head of the Strategy Office for Peek & Cloppenburg, one of Europe’s largest fashion retailers. Henriette graduated from the Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) with a B.Sc. in Business Administration and from the Hochschule Wismar with an M.A. in Specialized Sales, Merchandising and Marketing Operations.

Stephanie Oestreich, Chief Business Officer, Galecto
Stephanie Oestreich is Chief Business Officer at Galecto and serves on the board of drug investment and development company Orange Grove Bio. Previously she was Vice President at cell therapy company Mnemo Therapeutics heading up operations and alliance management, a Venture Partner at RA Capital, and Executive Vice President at Evotec where she built up its North American investment arm and started an incubator with Samsara BioCapital. She also worked as International Business Leader at F. Roche Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., and for Novartis in Business Development and Commercial in different geographies and therapeutic areas, where she built teams and successfully launched six drugs in immunology and oncology. Stephanie conducted the research for her Ph.D. in biochemistry in the lab of a Nobel Prize winner at Harvard Medical School and obtained an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Mayalen Lacabarats, Legal Director, Servier Pharmaceuticals
Mayalen Lacabarats is Legal Director at Servier in the US. She oversees the contracting activity across functions for both Servier US entities, supports business development activities and assists the General Counsel in a variety of other legal and strategic issues. Prior to her role as Legal Director at Servier Pharmaceuticals, Mayalen worked at Servier’s Headquarters in France. During her time there, Mayalen worked first as a deal lawyer. Then she created and headed the BD Legal Team, responsible for business development activities including M&A, licensing and alliance management. As part of her latest role there, Mayalen was sitting on the Global BD Leadership Team and on the Global Legal Directors Committee. Prior to joining Servier, Mayalen worked as a litigator for 8 years, at Dechert LLP (Paris) and Farthouat Asselineau et associés. Mayalen is admitted in NY and Paris. She received her J.D. and Masters from Paris II Pantheon-Assas and her LLM from Boston University.

Andrea Mulligan, Corporate Sales Manager, United Airlines
Andrea is a Corporate Sales Manager at United Airlines, where she works with Fortune 500 companies to optimize their travel spend.  She also advises and sponsors organizations such as MA Conference for Women, Girls & Women in Aviation, NE Business Travel Association, Meet Boston, and BABCNE.  Previously she was a Sales Systems Project Manager and Sales Training Manager at US Airways/American Airlines.  Andrea graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a BA in Communications and the Darden School Executive Program in Sales Management & Marketing.  She also volunteers as a Lobbyist on Capitol Hill for the Travel industry and Team Leader for the non-profit organization Women Within International that supports women in reclaiming their power and wisdom.

Gabriela Salas, Vice President of Marketing, Tailwind Air
Gabriela Salas is known in business, social and political arenas for her versatility and enthusiasm. Her honest and real public relations and success during market openings for several Fortune 500 companies highlight why she is considered a motivational, exemplary woman, leader and entrepreneur. Gaby, as friends and family call her, has been developing brands for several companies such as Diageo, MHUSA, Metro PCS.

During the pandemic challenges, Gabriela joined the Commercial team at Tailwind Air launching their 1st ever Boston to Manhattan seaplane shuttle service. She incremented revenue expectancy and has positioned the brand in the NY/MA, opening new destinations such as Provincetown and Washington DC. Today, Gaby is VP of Marketing and Business Development and focuses on the company’s growth. She recently became partner of the organization and a key advisor to the ownership team.

Gaby came to Tailwind Air from Virgin Atlantic Ltd which she joined in 2016. Whilst her knowledge on air transportation was developing, she still positioned herself as a leading executive in the aeronautical transport industry. She developed and grew Virgin Atlantic’s routes from Boston to Heathrow, launched Boston to Manchester UK and positioned VS as a leader hosting the MLB famous rivalry Yankees vs Red Sox game in London. Gabriela became a JV expert and an important liaison for Delta’s Sales and Community ally during her time as Virgin Atlantic’s Commercial Team as their Executive of Global Sales for the East Coast in America. Prior to Virigin Atlantic, she was with Aeromexico as their New England Market Manager to help launch their nonstop flight from Boston to Mexico City. Gaby’s key marketing and sales strategies generated additional accounts and partnerships incrementing 400% revenue and high ROI in the East Coast.
